General considerations

★ Prior to commencing services, I’ll send through an intake form. Once you’ve submitted it, we can arrange a brief meet and greet to discuss your pet, the information you’ve provided, and what you’re hoping to get out of my services.

★ Sent along with my intake form is a service agreement detailing the terms we agree to when booking and completing services. Please read this thoroughly, sign, and submit with your intake form. Check out my service agreement here.

★ Please feel free to share any information about your pet’s history, health or behaviour, even if it doesn’t seem directly related to the current situation. Every detail helps me build a more complete picture of how best to meet their needs.

★ My priority is always to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet. I avoid aversive tools and methods, as I believe they reduce trust and do not help any animal feel safe enough for their emotions or behaviours to truly change in a positive direction. Training and behaviour are almost never quick fixes in my opinion.

★ Let me know if you’re interested in more than one service. I’m happy to combine certain services where it makes sense, while keeping it as cost-effective as possible.

★ Please let me know before the service about any allergies, sensitivities, medical conditions or current medications that may affect your pet’s care. Please also ensure their vaccinations and parasite prevention are up to date.

★ I’m currently completing my Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing and can assist with some basic ongoing medical-care tasks. However, I am not yet a qualified veterinary nurse, veterinarian or veterinary behaviourist, and my services are not a substitute for veterinary care.

★ After each service, I’ll send through a summary of the session along with an invoice. Payment (via bank transfer or cash) is due within 72 hours, after which late fees may apply. If we’re booked for more than one service per week, I’ll provide you with a weekly invoice rather than one for each individual service.

★ I communicate best by text or email and prefer these where possible. That said, I’m happy to use phone calls when necessary, particularly in an emergency or where calling is more accessible for you.

★ I charge 50% for cancellations within 90 minutes of the scheduled service. I do not charge for rescheduling.

Walking

★ Dog walks from your home, ranging from 30 to 120 minutes.

★ Including play, enrichment, and training.

Things to consider

Please keep me aware of any behavioural concerns or training goals so I’m able to reinforce your dog correctly.

Please ensure your dog has a leash and a secure, well-fitting collar or harness. I carry a backup anti-choke slip lead in case your dog’s usual equipment breaks or malfunctions.

Does your dog have any particular preferences on walks, or sensitivities to things in the environment? Are there locations in your local area you’d prefer to avoid?

What’s an average duration for your current walks? How frequently are you and your dog walking at the moment?

Would you like anything done before we leave/after we return home (eg. refreshing your dog’s food/water, crating your dog, practicing any skills as part of departure/arrival)?

After returning your dog home, I’ll send you a message detailing our route, what we did, and any notable behaviours you might want to know about.

For your dog’s (and my own!) comfort and safety, I may have to modify the walk or limit the walk’s duration during adverse weather conditions such as high winds, heavy rain, or 25°C and above.

Pricing

★ $30 for 30–45 mins

★ $40 for 45–90 mins

★ $50 for 90–120 mins

★ $5 per additional dog

Training & behaviour

★ Training sessions in or out of your home (eg. on your street, at a nearby park) of up to 60 minutes.

★ Address behavioural concerns, train life skills, and obedience.

Things to consider

Before beginning training sessions, I’ll conduct a brief meeting in person. The purpose of this meeting is for me to observe your pet and their environment, and for us to discuss your pet’s history, your ideas and/or concerns, and create some goals to work toward.

My priority is always to ensure the safety and comfort of your pet. I avoid aversive tools and methods, as I believe they reduce trust and do not help any animal feel safe enough for their emotions or behaviours to truly change in a positive direction. Training and behaviour are almost never quick fixes in my opinion.

Pricing

★ $40 per session

Care tasks

★ Pet care tasks such as drop-ins, feeding and watering, medication administration, basic grooming, bathing, and cleaning pet spaces.

Things to consider

Some examples of my care task service:

‍ ‍Drop-ins: I check in at your home for about 10 minutes (or up to 45 mins, at your prior request) to ensure your pet is safe and well, and has everything they need. I can replace bedding, scoop litter, provide food, water, medications, play, or just some comforting pats.

‍ ‍Feeding, watering & administering medication: I provide your pet with fresh water, and their meal. I’ll also wash any feeding dishes if needed. Regarding special dietary restrictions, I’m happy to complete food preparation tasks if this is required. I am also able to administer medications.

‍ ‍Basic grooming: I can brush your pet’s coat, or bathe them if necessary. Keep in mind you may need to be present for more invasive grooming such as teeth brushing or nail trims, or if your pet can be more prone to stress when groomed.

‍ ‍Cleaning of pet spaces: maintaining a hygienic space is so important for your pet’s safety and comfort. Sometimes it can get overwhelming, so I’m happy to help out by cleaning your pet’s crate/enclosure, washing pet dishes, replacing bedding, deep cleaning litter boxes, etc.

Prior to my visit, please provide me with a clear description on tasks to ensure I understand your and your pet’s needs.

I take public transport everywhere, so I’m unable to bring general cleaning or grooming supplies to your home. Please make any products or equipment you would like me to use easily accessible before the service.

Pricing

★ Approximately $10–30 per task

Pricing varies depending on the time, complexity and number of tasks involved. I’ll confirm the expected price with you in advance and keep combined services as cost-effective as possible.

Enrichment add-on

★ I can bring along a novel enrichment item or activity for your pet as an add-on to another booked service.

★ Depending on the item and your preference, I may set it up and guide your pet through the activity during my visit, or leave it ready for you to deploy later with minimal effort.

Things to consider

Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice when requesting an enrichment add-on. I put thought and effort into choosing/creating something suited to your pet, and need time to gather materials, prepare the activity or organise equipment. Requests made with less notice may still be possible where I already have a suitable item available.

Some items are single-use and can be disposed of after use (eg. cardboard-based shredding activities.) Other items (eg. bubble machine, snuffle mat) are part of my own equipment collection and are loaned temporarily for your pet’s use; these will need to be collected by me to be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected between households.

Please ensure any loaned items are made available for collection as soon as you’re able. If a loaned item is damaged or not returned, a replacement fee may apply based on the item’s original purchase price.

The $5-15 charge is to cover the cost of materials, cleaning, disinfection, preparation, transport, set-up/pack-down, and for the novelty of having something new and temporary available for your pet. If you already have enrichment items or activities at home, I’ll happily engage your pet with these during a booked service at no extra cost.

Feel free to let me know any of your pet’s preferences, I’ll do my best to bring along something special for them!
